We sell the masa (corn dough) ground from the nixtamal corn.  Masa is ground for both tortillas (fine) and tamales (coarse). Do you have a special need? Just let us know and we will be happy to cater to your need. Masa is sold by the pound for $1.50.  Upon request, we sell prepared masa for tamales for $3.00 per pound of masa.

Nixtamal tortillas are made from white corn cooked with a small portion of calcium hydroxide (aka lime or cal) in water. There no additives or preservatives, msgs, or other artificial ingredients. Our tortillas are made from masa ground the same day. Fresh means everything!

Tortillas are sold by the pound for $2.25. There are about 15 tortillas in a pound. We also have a small tortilla (size of your palm) which can be available upon request. Stop by, or call or email ahead to reserve your order. We can't predict when we might sell out.

Tamales made from real masa!

You will not find anything like it in NYC, or in most places across the country. Our tamales are unique not only because we use real masa, but we specially season the meat or vegetables inside the masa as well.

There are seven different varieties and their size is slightly larger than what you would see in Mexico, providing a balanced meal in a single tamal. They are sold for $2.50 each. For large orders (more than 12 or more than 8 of a single kind) please order 2 days ahead of time to ensure we have what you want.

We make nachos (corn chips) and tostadas (fried tortillas - flat) from our left over daily tortillas. We use 100% corn oil containing 0 transfats and zero cholesterol. We do not salt our chips - they're so good naturally that its not needed. Nachos and Tostadas are sold by the pound for $3.00. They are also made fresh every day.

All salsas are made fresh by hand at Nixtamal.

All ingredients used are naturally grown, nothing canned, frozen or in touch with artificial preservatives. We sell three types of salsas:

• Verde (roasted jalapenos, tomatillos and garlic)
• Chipotle (plum tomatoes, ancho and chipotle chilis and other Mexican spices) and,
•  Mole Poblano (a sweet and slightly spicy blend made from 20 different ingredients, inlcuding peanuts).

We make other salsa for our specials, and can make them for you as requested, e.g. an arbol salsa, a spicy avocado salsa, guajillo and others. Our salsas are sold for $5-$7 for 16 ounces
